Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, episcopal leader of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, offers a word of comfort, gratitude, and inspiration via a short video to United Methodists as the church continues to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. 

 

Calling on the words of Psalm 23, she says: "He restoreth my soul -- or as some scholars translate that verse --  'My life he gives back.' The word nefesh in Hebrew can be translated as 'life-breath.' In these times when our very breath feels as though it is being taken from us, the Lord, our Shepherd, our comforter, our very present help in times of trial, is giving us our breath back."
