Lanham extends an invitation to membership to any person ready to commit to the joys and challenges of
being part of a community of faith. Persons from all denominational backgrounds and persons
with no previous church affiliation are always welcome.
Persons who join The United Methodist Church make sacred commitments to God and to the community and
promise to be held accountable to their commitments. Through these vows we accept God’s free gift of freedom
and power to turn away from evil; to profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; to believe in the Christian faith
as contained in the Bible; to live a Christian life; and to faithfully participate in the ministries of the church
by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness, that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. (“New Membership Vows and Ritual” © 2008 by The General Board of Discipleship of The United Methodist Church)
Taking these vows is often the first step in a more deliberate relationship with God, a more fulfilling spiritual life, and more meaningful involvement in the church. However, not everyone is ready to become a member, we invite you to journey alongside us as you explore ways to develop and nurture yourself and serve God through the community of faith. The decision to join a church is but one step in a life-long process of growth and discovery in relationship with God.
New members are received into the church on a designated Sunday, primarily requested by the candidates during the service of worship. There is a required 2-hour orientation session, called Lunch with Pastor following a Sunday service. Membership Service—held on Sunday by appointment.
Please meet our pastor through Coffee with the Pastor. Check out the first sermon series you want to hear about true meaning of the church! If you speak Spanish as the primary language, join the Hispanic Ministries. Bring your children to Jesus!
